PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — This week on FYI Philly, we have big names in fashion and food. We take you inside the first Jordan Brand store in the U.S., visit a James Beard winner’s new restaurant and a new Italian masterpiece in King of Prussia and enjoy some southern comfort cocktails and vegan treats.
Sao on East Passyunk Avenue opened in September from James Beard Award-winner Phila Lorn and his wife Rachel, along with partner Jesse Levinson. It is the second restaurant for Phila and Rachel following the critically acclaimed Mawn.
At his new restaurant, the food has a similar style with some popular dishes carried over from Mawn.
The new space has a raw bar at the heart of the restaurant featuring a rotating menu of crudos and oysters. There is also a bar serving craft cocktails created by Jesse.

With a degree in graphic design, she came to Philadelphia to work as a pastry chef at a vegan restaurant, with the goal of opening her own bakery.
Now, Crust is celebrating its 10th birthday with a big growth spurt, moving the kitchen and storefront under one roof in a new cafe in neighboring East Falls later this year.

Kitchen + Kocktails, by Kevin Kelley, serves up Southern classics on South Broad.
Just a stone’s throw from City Hall, you’ll find a brand new, opulent yet approachable dining establishment. The namesake longtime attorney and his team have opened five other locations around the country since 2020.
The food menu includes Southern classics, like chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits, and other favorites like Jamaican jerk lamb chops. The drinks menu is inventive, with selections like the Cotton Candy Cloud, and the show-stopping Smoked Old Fashioned. The rose stairway is a can’t miss selfie-spot, and the massive 30-seat marble bar accents the art and design touches.
