Two brothers are seeing their vision of the last 20 years come to life as their dream gym in the heart of town takes shape.
Nathan and Craig Allwood, born and bred in Newark, will be opening Transform Super Gym on Robin Hood Walk, located next to Asda in Newark, next month.
In February last year, the duo opened an exclusive fitness training studio on Bowbridge Lane, Middlebeck, joining their PTT Personal Training studio in Fernwood.

Nathan and Craig have been personal trainers for over 20 years, with Nathan beginning his career as a fitness instructor at LA Fitness, on Newark’s Industrial Estate, and was later promoted to deputy club manager.
Craig completed a Sports and Exercise Science degree at university and then worked at LA Fitness delivering leaflets, before progressing to a fitness instructor.
After years of working for other people, they decided to start their own brand — Transform — which is not only their gym’s brand but also their fitness gear’s brand.
This year, they decided to expand their premises and bring a bigger sense of community into the town centre, so they decided to close their Fernwood studio to open their first-ever gym.
Craig said: “It’s been a dream of ours to own our own space. This was a complete shell, so to take it from nothing to seeing it all coming together now — it’s nice to see the vision, all the ideas we’ve had in our head for the last 15 to 20 years, we can now bring them to fruition.”
Transform Super Gym will offer the same services as in Middlebeck and more, with gym memberships, body transformations, one-to-one personal training, and small group personal training.
A protein bar and café, a physio room, a room dedicated to nutritional planning and toilets and shower facilities will also be available.
Craig added: “We’re both Newark born and bred, and that is what we’re trying to pump back into the heart of Newark, an empty unit that’s been sitting here for years.
“We want to bring something back, a bit of energy around the area.”
There is currently no set date for the new gym’s opening, but the brothers are aiming to be ready to open in mid to end of November.
Nathan added: “Each and every member or client is always valued with us, and we make sure we support them through their entire journey with us, and anyone who walks through the doors, regardless of age, fitness ability.
“We’ve taken care of a lot of people, and we’ve got a good reputation doing it for the last few years.”
