1. Cuomo gets Paterson endorsement, Sliwa and Mamdani canvas

Former Gov. David Paterson backed mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo for the Democratic primary in June and after he lost, then endorsed Mayor Eric Adams.

Paterson also previously worked for Jim Walden, an independent candidate who has dropped his mayoral bid.

Republican Curtis Sliwa said he never wanted support from Paterson — who is his ex-wife’s new husband — calling his backing the “kiss of death.”

Meanwhile, Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani hit up voters in Hell’s Kitchen and explained he’s not worried about the early voting numbers — despite his campaign sending out an email Monday arguing the 55 and over totals so far could favor Cuomo.

2. Air traffic controllers miss first paycheck of government shutdown

Air traffic controllers handed out pamphlets to travelers at LaGuardia Airport, warning about the consequences of the shutdown for air travel.

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy appeared at LaGuardia Airport Tuesday to warn that if the shutdown continues, delays could get worse as controllers work other jobs to get by.

3. A look at education issues in the mayoral race

Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani has said he doesn’t support mayoral control of city schools and wants more parent and educator input.

Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo says ending mayoral control would be a “debacle.”

Mayoral candidates also disagree on issues like gifted and talented education.
