PHOENIX (AZFamily) — With more than 900,000 people expected to to lose benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), some local restaurants and businesses are stepping up to offer free or discounted meals to those in need.
The Coronado PHX
The Coronado is a multi-award winning Vegan Eatery established in 2015 with a menu that is 100% plant based and dishes are prepared daily.
They recently announced their “Pay it Forward” option that will allow locals to by a burrito and a side of chips and salsa for someone in need.
These meals will be available for anyone with a SNAP/EBT card starting November 1st from 1pm-5pm daily.

LoveBite Dumplings
Lovebite Dumplings is a steamed fast food concept, dedicated to celebrating local design and good food.
The owners announced that they will be offering free meals for anyone with an EBT or SNAP card from November 1 to November 8.

King Pigeon
King Pigeon offers a curated grab-bag of vintage and thrift clothing, knickknacks, housewares, weird odds & ends, guitars, and other musical equipment.
Locals will be able to provide and or get help at King Pigeon as people who donate any non-perishable items will get a 10% discount.

Baked Chemistry Vegan Cafe:
a ‘Chemistry Community Plate’ will be available for locals on a ‘pay-what-you can’ meal offering for those in need. They will also be accepting donations to give back to those impacted by the impending SNAP freeze.
