The average gas price in Arizona has fallen 4 cents in the past week to $3.32 per gallon. Although that continues a declining trend, the price remains well above the U.S. average of $3.03 per gallon.
“The most expensive gas across Arizona is in Maricopa County, averaging about $3.51, and Greenlee County has the cheapest, at $2.84,” said Julian Parades of AAA Arizona.
Paredes also said Hurricane Melissa did not lead to the price spike that many people had feared. But he said the escalating conflict between the U.S. and Venezuela could affect oil prices — as was the case in 2022, after Russia invaded Ukraine.
