PHOENIX — Officials are giving a treat to Valley drivers over Halloween weekend, as there will only be one freeway closure to avoid.
In its Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Oct. 31-Nov. 3, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) said that a portion of the Loop 101 Pima Freeway is scheduled to be closed, but all other Valley freeways will be open.
However, the schedule for the closure is subject to change due to weather or other factors, the department added.

Weekend closure planned for Loop 101 Pima Freeway in Scottsdale
The lone closure that ADOT has planned will be for a four-mile stretch of the Loop 101 Pima Freeway in Scottsdale.
The northbound lanes of the freeway are scheduled to be closed between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday due to the ongoing freeway widening project in the area.
The ramps to the northbound lanes of the freeway at Via de Ventura and 90th Street will also be closed.
These closures are in addition to a long-term closure of the off-ramp from southbound Loop 101 at Raintree Drive. That ramp is scheduled to reopen next month.
ADOT advised drivers to use other freeways, including the westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway or northbound State Route 51, to reach Loop 101 this weekend.
Drivers who get off the freeway at Shea Boulevard can also go west and then drive north on Scottsdale Road to reconnect with Loop 101.
Other weekend ramp closures to watch out for
ADOT had only one other warning for drivers due to a planned ramp closure in the East Valley.
The on-ramp to the eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway at Gilbert Road in Chandler will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Sunday. This is also due to an ongoing widening project.
The department said drivers can access the freeway by using the on-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads.
Nearby, a long-term closure is in place for the off-ramp from the eastbound lanes of Loop 202 at Arizona Avenue. The exit closed earlier this month and is expected to reopen in December.
