Enid native and current Shawnee resident Jordan Baker will be in the World Series spotlight on Saturday night. The 6’7 Baker will be the home plate umpire in the decisive game between the Blue Jays and Dodgers in Toronto. Baker was not on the field as an umpire for Friday night’s Game 6. He was an alternate and was likely in one of the Rogers Centre tunnels in case he was called upon to be a sub.
Postseason Experience
Baker became a Major League umpire in 2012 and has a vast postseason resume. This is the second World Series that Baker has umpired in; he was also part of the crew in the 2022 World Series. He has umpired in three League Championship Series (2021, 2023 and 2024), three Division Series (2019, 2022 and 2025) and five Wild Card Games/Series (2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024). He was also a part of the 2019 All-Star Game umpiring crew.
Game Ejections
During his 14-year career as a major league umpire, Baker has made 36 ejections. His last one came on June 6th of this season, when he ejected Minnesota’s Ryan Jeffers.
Where To Watch
Game 7 of the 2025 World Series between the Dodgers and Blue Jays will air Saturday at 7 pm on Fox. The 6’7 Baker will be in the spotlight as the home plate umpire.
