PHOENIX — Scottsdale was recently crowned as the best place in Arizona to celebrate the Fourth of July.
WalletHub bestowed the title upon the Valley city last week in its list of 100 best and worst places in the U.S. to celebrate Independence Day.
Scottsdale was ranked 11th in the nation.
Why was Scottsdale No. 1 for Arizona Fourth of July celebrations?
The personal finance website calculated the rankings based on the following five criteria: Fourth of July celebrations, affordability, the weather forecast for the Fourth of July, safety and accessibility, and attractions and activities.
Any storm activity in the Valley is expected to clear out before the Fourth of July holiday.
Each city was given a score out of 100 in each of the five categories.
Researchers then calculated a weighted average for each city.
