Sponsored by America First Credit Union, Christmas Angel is celebrating 40 years of holiday magic for Arizona families.
This great tradition has been providing children in need in Arizona with Christmas smiles for 40 years.
PHOENIX (Arizona’s Family) — The holiday season is about hope. But hope can be hard to hold on to for struggling Arizona families. In these tough times, the reality is that some families, possibly people you know, might have to make the heartbreaking decision to pay for necessities like rent and groceries rather than buy Christmas gifts for their children.
The other hallmarks of the holidays are kindness and generosity. That’s where you come in for the youngest members of Arizona’s Family. They have Christmas wishes. You can make them come true.
Christmas Angel & Forgotten Angel
The Salvation Army and Arizona’s Family believe every child deserves to know the joy of a new toy at Christmas.
To help make the holidays brighter for the less fortunate, we’ve teamed up once again to provide Christmas gifts to families in need throughout the Valley of the Sun and other parts of the state.
With a history going back four decades, Christmas Angel is a deep-rooted Arizona tradition. With your help and the help of our sponsor, America First Credit Union, Christmas Angel has come through for tens of thousands of Arizona children, making sure they have a gift to open on Christmas morning.
There’s nothing better than seeing the smiles of children on Christmas morning. So much excitement! And for many Arizona children, it’s just the confirmation they need to know that being good matters.
Here’s how it works
Being part of this time-honored tradition is easy.
1. Choose a tag from an Angel Tree at one of 10 Arizona shopping malls.
- Arizona Mills
- Arrowhead Towne Center
- Chandler Fashion Center
- Desert Ridge Marketplace
- Flagstaff Mall
- Kierland Commons
- Santan Village
- Scottsdale Fashion Square
- Superstition Springs Center
- Tempe Marketplace
2. Buy the gift listed on the tag.
Have fun shopping!
3. Return the tag and the gift to the Angel Tree.
The Salvation Army takes care of the rest.
No time to shop? Can’t get to a mall?
No worries! The Salvation Army has made it super simple for you to be an angel for a child in need. Check out the Christmas Angel Giving Tree to make an online donation. Santa’s helpers will use your contribution to buy age-appropriate gifts for this year’s Angels.
- $10 buys a gift for a baby or a cute DIY activity for an elementary schooler
- $15 buys gifts for Angels 7 and older
- $20 buys a SMART board game or building set
- $100 covers an Angel’s whole wish list
- $400 makes Christmas possible for a family with four children
Last year’s Forgotten Angel Toy Drive at Chandler Fashion Center collected 5,403 toys in a single day!
Royal Norman has been a champion for the Christmas Angel program since it launched. Every year, he breaks out some spectacular jackets for his mall visits, and we always look forward to seeing them! Which one is your favorite?
