The journey will be coming to an end, but it won’t stop in Houston, at least for now.
The band Journey released dates for its Final Frontier tour, billed as its “farewell tour,” and Houston is nowhere to be found.
Set to begin in February and wrap in July, the 60-date tour will make a stop in Austin during the first leg with two final shows – on July 1 and 2 – scheduled to take place in Corpus Christi and Laredo, respectively.
COMING TO NRG: AC/DC to visit Houston in 2026
While Houston has been a staple tour stop for Journey since its 1980s peak, the band’s appearance last year during the Houston Rodeo ended abruptly mid-concert when an electrical fire underneath the stage forced the band to cancel the rest of the show.
The band escaped without injury, and Houston fans were given refunds.
The next day, Neal Schon, the band’s lead guitarist and a founding member, posted a message on Instagram and “offered to play” that night to “make it up to y’all” for the cancellation. Ultimately, he added, “they were not able to make it happen, so until next, Love and Respect.”
That next time appears to be uncertain. The band’s lineup includes Schon along with another core member, Jonathan Cain, and Arnel Pineda, but without lead singer Steve Perry and keyboardist/vocalist Gregg Rolie.
