HOUSTON – A bomb squad responded to a suspicious items discovered Saturday night at an apartment complex in northwest Harris County, according to Harris County Pct. 4 constable deputies.
Constable deputies responded at 3:57 p.m. to call about a possible bomb at the Idlewild Apartment complex, located in the 9915 block of FM 1960 Road west.
According to Pct. 4, a man was going through his brother’s belongings after he died on Nov. 5. He reportedly found an item that looked like a bomb and then called 911.
Emergency personnel, including the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Bomb Squad, were on scene assessing the situation.
Bomb squad took x-rays of the item around 5 p.m.
Residents were asked to avoid the area and remain patient while authorities ensure the scene is safe.
Around 7 p.m., officials on the scene were “neutralizing’ the item.
