Win a Trip to the Gran Turismo World Final With the Spec III Polestar Time Trial – GTPlanet

Although we’ve only just head about the addition of the Polestar brand to Gran Turismo 7 in the upcoming Spec III update, it’s also been revealed as the center of a competitive online Time Trial event with a spectacular prize.

When Polestar arrives, with its brand-new 5 model, it’ll immediately be put to use in the Online Time Trial section of the game for a special event called the Polestar 5 Time Trial Challenge 2025. This will comprise a hot-lap challenge in the new 870hp EV sedan at the compact Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.

While that sounds like a terrifying combination, there’s plenty of incentive to take part as the fastest eligible player overall will win a trip to the 2025 Gran Turismo World Series World Final in Fukuoka, on December 20 and 21.

It’s an interesting event on two fronts, as it not only brings one of the eight new Spec III vehicles into action as soon as it arrives but it gives us an earlier and narrower window for Spec III’s availability.

Until now, the assumption had been that Spec III would slot into a traditional end-of-month spot in late December, but with the Time Trial offering that prize it means the update will need to arrive before the World Final — and significantly before at that.

Time Trial events usually run for at least two weeks, coming each Thursday, with more time on occasion for special events. That means that there’s only really a couple of days in early December where the update can arrive in order to start the event, allow for the two-week window, and subsequently organizing the winner’s travel (not to mention the time required for the flights) unless it’s a much shorter one than usual.

Of course late-November would make more sense, but Polestar itself has reiterated the December window, so we’ll have to wait and see.

We’re also still waiting for a little more information on the event itself as well as the precise nature of the prize — as these things commonly feature a VIP experience with a plus-one — so keep an eye on the site for all the latest.
