A pedestrian is fighting for her life in the hospital following a collision in Vaughan late Sunday morning.

The crash happened near Famous Avenue and Colossus Drive, which is south of Highway 7 and east of Weston Road.

York Regional Police say they were called to that area just before noon for reports of a pedestrian that had been struck during multi-vehicle collision.

Police initially said a 60-year-old woman was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries. They later said that her injuries are considered life-threatening.

Currently, Colossus is closed between Weston and Famous.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit is investigating.
