PHOENIX — A male suspect and another man were hospitalized following an apartment complex shooting in west Phoenix on Friday morning, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department responded to a shooting around 10:46 a.m. at a complex located near 99th Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Police found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound and transported him to a nearby hospital with “serious life-threatening injuries.”
While police were conducting their early investigations, they received a 911 call alerting them to the same cross streets in Tolleson. This call was about a 23-year-old man also suffering from a gunshot wound.
Through a joint effort, Phoenix and Tolleson police confirmed the man they responded to in the 911 call was “related to the earlier shooting.”
The unidentified man was taken to a nearby hospital also with life-threatening injuries, but Phoenix police said his injuries came from “a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
