A fire that broke out in downtown Los Angeles Sunday was knocked down by firefighters.

The fire occurred in a one-story building on Pico Boulevard just after 5:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was initially regarded as a rubbish fire but was upgraded to a structure fire when the first fire engine arrived on scene.

The roof of the impacted building had been previously compromised due to a previous burn at the site, but the blaze was put out by 43 firefighters in just under half an hour, the LAFD reported.

No injuries were reported.
