THE BILL WOULD FUND MUCH OF THE GOVERNMENT THROUGH JANUARY AND WOULD FUND SNAP BENEFITS THROUGH SEPTEMBER FOR FEDERAL WORKERS. THE SENATE AGREEMENT WOULD ENSURE THEY’LL GET BACK PAY FOR THE SHUTDOWN. A piebald deer was spotted walking around a Berks County apartment complex over the weekend. At first glance, I thought it was a dog, but this one had antlers. I never saw a deer like this before,” Rothermel wrote in an email. What is a piebald deer?Piebald deer are born with a genetic condition that gives them patches of white hair mixed in with their normal brown hair. Some piebald deer may only have small patches of white, while others might be nearly entirely white. According to a post on the Pennsylvania Game Commission website: “With the millions of genetic combinations that occur when deer breed, piebald deer are rare but widely documented throughout the range of the whitetail. Usually, they are reported at rates under 1% in the population. Limited observations indicate normal and piebald deer crosses produce both normal and piebald offspring. A piebald deer was spotted walking around a Berks County apartment complex over the weekend.

Gretchen Ann Rothermel snapped a photo of the piebald deer in Shillington and shared it with WGAL.
“I was looking out my front window at my apartment complex and I saw this unusual animal prancing by. At first glance, I thought it was a dog, but this one had antlers. I never saw a deer like this before,” Rothermel wrote in an email.
What is a piebald deer?
Piebald deer are born with a genetic condition that gives them patches of white hair mixed in with their normal brown hair. Some piebald deer may only have small patches of white, while others might be nearly entirely white.
