Wendell Carter Jr.‘s teammate Desmond Bane drained a buzzer-beating triple to propel the Orlando Magic to a 115-112 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Bane’s 3-pointer came from 27 feet while fading away to his right, before triggering a frenzied celebration in Orlando.

With such an astounding shot, it caught the attention of WNBA star Angel Reese, who has been linked with Magic’s Carter Jr. The Chicago Sky forward went to X to react to the Magic’s victory and Bane’s buzzer-beater.

“whew that GAME. #dubsinthechatttttt,” she wrote.

Bane came off a screen from Carter Jr. in the play to drain the triple that gave their fifth victory of the season. It was his first and only 3-pointer in the game.

Bane finished the game with 22 points and seven assists on 1-of-6 shooting from the three-point line as the Magic improved to 5-6 in the 2025-2926 NBA regular season.

Meanwhile, Carter Jr. had 19 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in the Magic win.

Carter Jr. and Reese have been rumored to have a romantic relationship in the past few months, but they have remained private about their relationship.

Despite having no admission, Reese has shown great interest in Magic games, particularly Carter Jr.’s highlights, this season.

Meanwhile, the Magic currently occupies the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Wendell Carter Jr. reacts to Desmond Bane’s game-winning shot

Reese’s rumored boyfriend Wendell Carter Jr. commended Desmond Bane’s game-winner after the victory, saying that it was surreal how fast it came through.

“It didn’t seem real. … To see it go down, it was amazing. It was kind of all a blur,” he said.

Carter Jr. then expressed happiness in seeing the Magic escape with the win, especially after Bane’s shot.

“I’m just happy for him. I’m happy for this group and what he was able to do for us tonight.”

Bane was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Magic during the offseason. He has since averaged 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, but struggled with his 3-point shot, making just 29.3% of his shots.

Meanwhile, Carter Jr. has been solid for the team, putting up 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as the Magic’s starting center.
