UTA Homecoming events to expect this week

UTA will be showing Maverick pride with different Homecoming events this week.

Tuesday

Students can receive a 2025 Homecoming shirt by trading in a non-UTA college shirt or high school shirt MavSwap Homecoming Edition from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center mall. In addition, the first 75 students to swap a shirt will receive a golden ticket to be part of the Dye the Fountain Blue Ceremony. 

UTA Ambassadors will be dyeing the main bridge fountain blue to celebrate the start of Homecoming from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the central fountain over Cooper Street.

UTA women’s basketball will be playing against the University of Wyoming at 6:30 p.m. at College Park Center. There will be free rally towels for fans while supplies last. 

Wednesday

Participating student organizations will face off at UTA’s annual chili cook-off from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Palo Duro Lounge in the UC. 

The National Pan-Hellenic Council will be hosting its NPHC Homecoming Hump Night from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Maverick Circle. The event will showcase the Divine Nine fraternities and sororities performances. 

Thursday

The Multicultural Greek Council will be hosting a block party celebrating culture and unity from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Fraternity and Sorority Life Community Center back parking lot. 

UTA’s annual Homecoming Bash will feature performers Mariah The Scientist, BunnaB and Flippa T with DJ 4.0, and will begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. at Texas Hall. 

Friday

The National Pan-Hellenic Council will be hosting its annual Homecoming step show from 7 to 11 p.m. at Texas Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m,. and tickets are sold online or the day of. 

UTA women’s basketball will play against Tennessee State University at 5 p.m. at College Park Center. 

Saturday

UTA’s Homecoming 5K will be at 9 a.m. at the Maverick Activities Center. 

The Homecoming Parade will be at 11 a.m. on Spaniolo Drive. The theme this year is ‘’The World of The Wizard of Oz.’’ 

The Homecoming Street Festival will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Spaniolo Drive. The festival will have a DJ, performances and food for attendees to enjoy before the pep rally. 

The men’s basketball team will play against Missouri State University at 5 p.m. at College Park Center. The UTA Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at the game during halftime.
