PHOENIX — An 83-year-old woman who went missing in Phoenix on Tuesday, prompting a SAFE Alert, has been located, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department said Wednesday morning the alert for Angela Latonis will be deactivated after was found by Peoria Police and reunited with her family.

Latonis was last seen in the area of 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road around 4 p.m. Tuesday when the alert was issued later that night.

She was described as 5 feet, 1 inch call and 125 pounds, with white hair and hazel eyes.

She was wearing a lavender sweater with purple flowers, a purple undershirt, blue jeans and lavender shoes before she went missing.

Latonis reportedly suffers from a medical condition that can cause her to appear confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons 65 and older and missing persons of other ages who suffer from dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
