If none of the options in last week’s column about Thanksgiving dining appealed to you, read on. Most of these spots are serving Nov. 27 or providing takeout, but The Mont is cooking up some holiday dishes all week.

Holidays can be tough for people separated from their families, so here’s a quick shoutout to everybody celebrating Friendsgiving. Whether the stuffing is served at a kitchen table or dished up in a fancy hotel dining room, this food fest is always an opportunity to get heartfelt and tell your loved ones you care about them before fighting over the last slice of pie.

Or skip the vulnerability and go straight to the pie. You do you.

Multicourse holiday week specials at The Mont

The Mont is not open Nov. 27, but diners can experience its festive five-course and eight-course tasting menus throughout Thanksgiving week. A PR email describes both menus as capturing “the essence of fall through artful presentations and deep, comforting flavors,” on top of their regular a la carte options. The five-course menu costs $75 and the eight-course version is $90.

Menu items mentioned were a mushroom bisque, harvest salad, duck breast, and butternut squash ravioli with mushroom conserva and Parmesan. For dessert there’s sweet potato custard with sablé — classic French shortbread — and meringue. The eight-course menu features flounder with apple-seaweed dashi, potato pavé with black truffle and caviar sauce, and wild boar.

Whiskey cake from … Whiskey Cake

Since their namesake is the only dessert Whiskey Cake serves, it makes sense this staple is an optional add-on to their precooked Thanksgiving dinner. The carryout meal runs for $128 and serves five, according to the Fort Worth location’s website

This turkey comes smoked with bourbon and rosemary gravy, cranberry chutney and sides of creamed Brussels sprouts, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, turkey sausage, poblano and Gouda stuffing, and potato rolls with butter.

Half a whiskey cake goes for $42 and serves 8-10 people while a $78 full cake serves 18-20. Other add-ons are macaroni and cheese with bacon fat bread crumbs for $25, an $18 sweet potato casserole with candied pecans, and bottles of red or white wine for $30 each.

Customers can place orders on their website and schedule pick ups for Nov. 25-26.
