HOUSTON – Houston police have released surveillance footage of a vehicle of interest tied to the fatal shooting of a young man outside a west Houston home.
The victim has been identified as Alan Tavera, 18.
What happened
The shooting was reported on Oct. 25 in the 6400 block of Briar Terrace Drive about 9:20 p.m.
Surveillance video captured the moment Tavera’s red Nissan Titan slammed into a parked vehicle in a driveway. He was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside the Nissan.
Houston firefighters arrived minutes later and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
Further investigation identified a vehicle of interest as a white pickup truck.
The newly released surveillance video shows the white truck and several people running, believed to be at least four males, who may have information about the incident.
