Train service for the Metra BNSF line was halted Wednesday night in the Chicago suburbs after a pedestrian was struck by a train near the Naperville station, Metra officials said.
Metra confirmed around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday that there was a temporary service suspension between the Lisle and Aurora stations after a freight train struck a pedestrian.
The agency did not provide an estimated duration of the service delay but said it will provide updates as information becomes available.

The Metra BNSF line provides service to the western suburbs of Chicago, running from Union Station to Aurora.
