While he’s obviously not going to publicly play too many of his cards, he spoke highly of both Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham, saying in both cases that he would be happy bringing them back to the Bronx.

New York Daily News | Gary Phillips: With the hot stove season getting underway and the Yankees in need of some amount of pitching, they’ve started checking in on some names, at least one familiar one. The Yankees have reportedly been in contact with 2025 swingman Ryan Yarbrough, potentially looking to reunite with him. Yarbrough was a pleasant surprise last season, having a very solid run in the rotation after the Yankees suffered some injuries, before going down with one himself.

NJ.com | Randy Miller: Onto a pitcher acquisition of the much more theoretical variety, reports say that newly crowned NL Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes has told people that he would like to play for the Yankees as early as 2026. I can’t say I’m sure of what or how much to make of this story, especially since the Pirates don’t necessarily have to rush any decision with Skenes, but it’s at least interesting.
