Tarrant County prosecutors will not seek the death penalty in the capital murder case of the two men accused of killing G$ Lil Ronnie and his daughter in March at a car wash, according to court records.
The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office filed notice on Wednesday, indicating it would not seek capital punishment in the case, according to a notice filed by the office. Reached Thursday by The Dallas Morning News, a spokesperson declined to comment on the decision.
Jakobie Russell, 21, and Adonis Robinson, 25, remain in jail as of Thursday afternoon after they were arrested following the slaying last spring.
Russell and Robinson opened fire on Ronnie Sibley, 35, while he was vacuuming his red Dodge Challenger at Slappy’s Car Wash in the 6500 block of Forest Hill Drive at about 10:48 a.m. on March 3, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by The News.

According to the affidavit, Russell and Robinson were armed with an assault-style rifle and handguns.
Sibley’s 5-year-old daughter, R’mani Sibley, was in the front passenger seat when the slaying occurred. It was unclear if the gunmen knew she was there, prosecutors have said.
Sibley was chased and cornered by the gunmen when he attempted to run, the affidavit said.
When Forest Hill officers arrived at the scene, they found Sibley and R’mani wounded and the Dodge Challenger with “multiple bullet defects.”
Russell and Robinson, who had fled the scene in a Kia Rio, were later arrested and booked on a capital murder charge.
