A woman is dead and a man is injured following a shooting in Arlington Wednesday night, police said.

Officers first learned of the shooting involving vehicles along westbound Interstate 20 near Bowman Springs Road around 7:40 p.m., according to a news release from the Arlington Police Department.

Soon after, police said a man called and reported he had been shot. When officers arrived at the man’s location, a gas station in the 4900 block of Little Road, they found him, a woman and two children inside a vehicle. It’s believed the woman may have been pregnant, police said.

Only the man and woman were shot, police said. The woman was unresponsive by the time officers arrived. She was taken to Medical Center Arlington, where she later died, according to officials.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Breasia Simone Johnson, 29.

She died from a gunshot wound to the torso at about 8:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

At this time, police said no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

Police said the two children who were inside the vehicle during the shooting were also taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The male driver was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries. He was not immediately identified.

Officers later learned that two vehicles had been struck during the gunfire. Police said no one inside the second vehicle was injured.
