Rafi Ben Shitrit, father of Staff Sgt. Elroy Ben Shitrit who fell in battle at Nahal Oz on October 7, spoke at the “October Council” protest at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. “More than 1,200 men and women were murdered and fell, babies were killed in their cribs. Entire families were destroyed before our eyes. From this pain, we must rise and demand the one thing we thought was obvious – a deep and thorough investigation of the processes, the failure, the abandonment. If we don’t investigate the truth to the end – we cannot fix it.” According to him, “A state inquiry commission is not revenge or a witch hunt. It is our promise to bereaved mothers, widows, orphans – we will not forget your loved ones.”
