Despite grappling with offensive struggles early in the 2025 WNBA season, Angel Reese has boldly declared herself as the Chicago Sky’s premier offensive threat and most formidable player.
Reese endured a rough start to the campaign, connecting on fewer than 30% of her field goal attempts through her initial 10 contests while committing turnovers at an alarming rate – all while the Sky stumbled to a disappointing record.
However, recent weeks have witnessed Reese elevate her scoring prowess while maintaining her dominance on the glass. Over her last three outings, Reese has tallied 24, 18, and 17 points respectively, with two of those performances resulting in Sky victories as the franchise seeks to salvage their season.

Following her 24-point explosion in the triumph over the Los Angeles Sparks – where Reese shined against elite competition including Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby – she delivered a bold proclamation that suggested she views herself as the team’s alpha.
She informed the media: “I’m the top of the scouting report,” implying that opposing teams prioritize stopping her above all else.
While such remarks might irk certain observers, they demonstrate her surging confidence as she battles through her early-season offensive woes – ultimately propelling the Sky back toward respectability.

Reese’s exceptional Week 6 showing in the 2025 WNBA season netted her Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors, posting averages of 19.7 points, 17.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest while displaying her versatility on both ends of the court.
Reese recently expressed enthusiasm about playing alongside Clark as the All-Star Game draws near, but discovered that she hasn’t secured a starting position on the team this year.
She’s expected to earn an All-Star selection though, likely coming off the bench.

While her self-assurance might appear bold, Reese also demonstrated her humble side last month – acknowledging she needs to elevate her performances to support her team.
With a field goal percentage hovering just below 30% through her initial 10 games, Reese conceded she had to reverse her struggles at that point.
She stated: “Seven turnovers for me just can’t happen. I’m trying to relieve my guards. I got to be better.”
Reese’s Sky now holds a 5-11 record following victories in two of their previous three contests, requiring a winning surge to bring them within reach of playoff consideration.
