SAN ANTONIO – It’s almost the holidays, and once again we are teaming up with the Salvation Army to help local families celebrate with the annual Angel Tree program.

The program is a way for San Antonio to make sure 6,000 kids have something to open on Christmas. This program allows members of the community to “adopt” an “Angel” by selecting a tag from a physical tree or an online registry, with each tag representing an individual in need and containing their specific wish list for new clothing and toys. Donors then purchase the requested, unwrapped items, which are collected and distributed by the charity to the registered families, ensuring that thousands of vulnerable individuals can experience the festive tradition of opening presents on Christmas morning.

There are Angel Trees at North Star Mall, Ingram Park Mall, South Park Mall and certain Walmart and Sam’s Club locations. You can select a child’s wish list from the tree and buy an item for their Christmas. You can also buy online.

Angel Tree program continues through December 12.
