BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — As rain made its way into the area, multiple roads were closed Tuesday morning in the far West Valley due to flooding.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said the following intersections are blocked due to water on the road:
- Salome Highway & 339th Avenue
- Wintersburg Road & Indian School Road
- 214th Avenue & Narramore Road
Drivers are encouraged to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” and not attempt to drive through flooded roads. MCSO advised drivers in the area to look for alternate routes.

Over the course of the next two days, up to 2 inches of rain are possible in the Valley, particularly in the higher elevations just north of the Valley.
This storm system is set to push out of Arizona on Thursday, but we’re watching another storm that could move in for Friday and the weekend.
Weather affects flights
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop at Phoenix Sky Harbor due to weather.
The ground stop is set to be lifted at 9:30 a.m., but it could be extended, depending on the weather situation. Only departing flights are affected by the ground stop.
Arizona’s Family has reached out to FAA and Sky Harbor officials for more information.
