Federal agencies, including the FBI, Homeland Security, and ICE, conducted a raid on Saturday targeting Tren de Aragua members, resulting in the detention of a number of individuals.
However, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was not involved in the operation.
Sheriff Salazar stated that his deputies were not part of the multi-agency raid and expressed uncertainty about whether federal agencies had reached out for assistance.
Efforts to contact the federal agencies for clarification on the exclusion of the sheriff’s office and details about the detainees have so far gone unanswered.
Questions regarding the exact number of people detained, the charges against them, and how many were gang members remain unanswered.
