■ The Knesset discussed a bill to allow the death penalty by lethal injection for terrorists, which would be carried out within 90 days without an ability to appeal the decision against “anyone who kills Jews only because they are Jews.”
■ Israel’s High Court of Justice has ruled that the government must swiftly implement criminal enforcement measures against ultra-Orthodox individuals who evade military service.
■ Rabbi Dov Lando, leader of the Lithuanian ultra-Orthodox community, announced his support for a draft exemption bill, the Degel Hatorah faction announced on Wednesday, removing the last remaining ultra-Orthodox opposition to the measure.
■ The reportedly planned meeting between U.S. special envoy Steve Wtikoff and Hamas chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya was canceled due to Israeli pressure, a Palestinian source confirmed to Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen.
■ The Israeli military said it killed two Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
■ Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of the two-state solution is key to normalization with Israel at his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
■ Asked by reporters in the Oval Office about the amount Saudi Arabia is planning on spending on the reconstruction of Gaza, the crown prince said that the amount is still being discussed, while President Donald Trump interjected, saying, “It’ll be alot, it’s very important to him.”
