WASHINGTON (TNDD) — Superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo attended a White House dinner Tuesday evening.

Also in attendance at the dinner was Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. On Tuesday, the crown prince met with President Donald Trump where they discussed business deals between the countries. Mohammed bin Salman said he would invest $1 trillion into the U.S.

Trump said that it was an “honor” to host Ronaldo and that his son Barron is a big fan of his.

“My son is a big fan of Ronaldo,” Trump said in reference to the Portuguese soccer star.

“And Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you.”

This is Ronaldo’s first appearance in the U.S. in almost a decade. He has been playing in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

He is under a two-year contract to stay in the club that is worth over $400 million, according to Fox News.

Portugal is supposed to compete in his sixth soccer tournament next summer in North America due to him qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
