The international break is frustrating when you’re enjoying club football, but this particular edition has had some interesting and enjoyable storylines as teams battle to qualify for next summer’s World Cup.

Estevao’s progress with Brazil has been a major talking point, and he’s developing just as fast for them as he is for Chelsea right now.

On his podcast, Fabrizio Romano spoke a little about the swirling world around the teenager.

“They [Chelsea] will keep going in this direction. They’re very happy about what they’re doing in terms of long term projects, bringing in young talents. I think Willian Estevao has been a masterclass by Chelsea, to be honest,” the transfer insider said on his podcast.

“Now this boy is doing fantastic for Brazil, and also for Chelsea. And when they signed him for that amount of money, of course, a very complicated structure with many add-ons, many people were maybe not so convinced to see this big amount of money invested on this boy. Now he’s one of the best talents, one of the best youngsters in the world.”

You can never judge a transfer too early, for good or bad, but this one couldn’t be going better two years after it was first rumoured.

In other news…

In other international break news, Cole Palmer is looking to get into the England squad for next summer, and is “desperate” to get into Thomas Tuchel’s plans. It won’t be easy.

Chelsea as a whole are doing pretty well, but on a podcast recently they agreed that the overall “vibes” of the season weren’t quite matching up with the results, which have seen the Blues up to third place.
