PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Nov. 19, 2025:
Hungry Birds – 921 E University Drive, Tempe
3 violations:
- Raw chicken stored in work basin
- Raw fish stored above milk-based dessert
- Vegetable purée out of temperature
OEB Breakfast Co. – 17757 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale
3 violations:
- Worker not washing hands properly
- Chef cracking eggs then not washing up
- Squash and beans kept past discard date
Over Easy – 6451 E Southern Ave, Mesa
3 violations
- Half and half out of temperature
- Dozens of live fruit flies
- Hollandaise sauce not held at proper temperature
Sasa Restaurant and Sweets – 3923 E Thunderbird Rd, Phoenix
4 violations:
- Employee prepping food without washing hands
- No soap at hand wash sink
- Raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat olives
- Feta cheese not kept cold enough
Asiana Market – 1135 S Dobson Rd, Mesa
5 violations:
- Fish tank scrapper stored on hand sink
- Raw salmon above pepper sauce
- Dishes not cleaned correctly
- Squid and beltfish not kept cold enough
- Swordfish not date marked
