SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Authorities have released a 911 call related to an incident involving a bald eagle dropping a cat through a car’s windshield Wednesday morning.

“Okay, you may not believe me, but I just had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield,” the 911 caller said. “It absolutely shattered my windshield.”

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the bizarre event occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday on US-74 in Swain County.

“I do believe you, honestly,” the operator responded.

“I had a witness who was like, ‘That is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen,” the caller said.

The operator confirmed the caller’s location and said Highway Patrol would be notified and dispatched to the scene to complete a report of the incident.

When asked if the cat that fell through the windshield was alive, the caller said it was deceased and “on the side of the road.”
