SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The mental health program Borrow My Angel announced the second video in its “Stories of Hope” initiative, featuring the personal journey of David Cameron, Springfield’s city manager.
The program operates on a simple but powerful belief: everyone has a guardian angel, and no one should navigate life’s hardest moments alone. Whether through a conversation, a shared story, or a quiet presence, people sometimes need to “borrow” an angel.
Program leaders said the videos help spread their mission of connecting people through real stories, nurturing understanding about mental health, and creating a world where no one feels alone in their struggles.
“Depression often also tells us lies that if I’m feeling some kind of way, it’s because something is wrong with me, when in reality, every one of us goes through it,” said Chuck Dow, founder and chairman of the board for Borrow My Angel. “So what we’re trying to do is, again, continue to normalize that conversation and make everyone who is hurting, who is struggling, realize it is okay to not be okay. And there are other people in your corner.”
