Reckless damage or destruction of property

On Nov. 13, a student reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email.

Reckless damage or destruction of property is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.

This case is still active.

 Unauthorized use of vehicle

On Oct. 14, officers made contact with an unaffiliated person who was driving a stolen vehicle, McCord said. He was arrested and transported to Arlington Police Department jail.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle is a state jail felony, punishable by imprisonment of 180 days to two years in jail, with the possibility of a fine not exceeding $10,000.

Theft of property and criminal trespass

On Nov. 14, a staff member reported the theft of a university vehicle, McCord said.

Theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000 is a state jail felony, punishable by imprisonment of 180 days to two years in jail, with the possibility of a fine not exceeding $10,000.

If the offender has not been previously convicted of trespassing on higher education property, the offense is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, confinement in jail of up to 180 days or both.

Offensive or provocative physical contact and offensive physical contact against family member

On Nov. 15, an unaffiliated person was issued citations for allegedly assaulting two students during an argument, McCord said.

Offensive or provocative physical contact and offensive physical contact against a family member is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000.

Possession of alcohol by a minor

On Nov. 15, two students were issued citations for possession of alcohol by a minor, McCord said.

Possession of alcohol by a minor is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
