Wholesale turkey prices could rise to around $2 a pound this Thanksgiving, according to a new analysis from Purdue University.

There’s always a lot to think about around the holiday season, especially when you’re hosting a big Thanksgiving dinner.

You could give yourself one fewer thing to think about next week and buy your Thanksgiving dinner ahead of time.

Whether it’s buying all the ingredients in one go at a grocery store, getting a nontraditional Thanksgiving dinner or a buying a fresh meal from your favorite local restaurant, Houston Public Media has you covered on what to do if you don’t feel like cooking on Thanksgiving.

Local eats

Traveler’s Table in the Montrose area has several options to pick a Thanksgiving meal. Their meals serve 4-6 guests, and you can choose from several sides — plus, Caribbean rum bread pudding for dessert. You can order online anytime up until 2 p.m. Nov. 24.

Camaraderie in the Heights is selling Thanksgiving “fixings” that can be picked up on Nov. 25 or Nov. 26. You can get rolls, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and squash, along with pecan or honey chess pies — at a cost of $143 for everything.

Rainbow Lodge has lots of different meats, turkey and other birds to choose from, serving anywhere from 8-12 people. The restaurant on Ella Boulevard also has green beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, mushroom risotto and more on the side. Order yours at least three days in advance and pick up on Nov. 25 or Nov. 26.

Hungry’s Memorial Drive, Rice Village and Woodway locations are offering a family holiday feast for 4-10 people for $235. Their meal includes turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and a pie.

Local Foods offers a build-your-own Thanksgiving meal with plenty of options, including turkey or tamale dinners for 6-8 people. The restaurant is only offering meals at its Rice Village location, and you have to put in an order by Nov. 21.

Well-known chains

Cracker Barrel has meals that serve either 4-6 or 8-10 folks for your Thanksgiving meal. You can pick up any time leading up to (and even after) Thanksgiving. But if you order ahead of time to pick up on Nov. 24 or Nov. 25, you can get a free digital bonus card.

Golden Corral’s Thanksgiving meals serve 6-8 people and range in price from $119 to $139. You can pick up any time between now and Thanksgiving.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has options if you’re looking for a new Thanksgiving tradition. You can pick up a whole “Thanksgiving at Your Table” for $180 only on Nov. 26, or you can buy salads, potatoes, spinach, stuffing or Brussels sprouts anytime until Nov. 25.

Grocery stores

Central Market has lots of different options to serve for your Thanksgiving dinner —whether it’s a standalone entrée like turkey or ham or an all-out holiday feast for $399 that serves 12-14 people.

H-E-B has all your holiday essentials, on top of all its usual ready-to-serve meals. You can go on the Texas chain’s website to pick your entrées, sides and desserts and add them to your H-E-B cart.

Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal package is your best option for eating on a budget, though it will require some cooking. For less than $40, you can get all you need to feed 10 people — turkey, potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and more.

Whole Foods has lots of different options for your Thanksgiving meal, whether you want a classic holiday dinner or something different, like prosecco-poached lobster or beef wellington.
