Jersey’s Lucy Dupre Earns Spot at CrossFit World Championships

A JERSEY CrossFit athlete will take her place on the international stage next month after earning qualification for the IF3 World Championship in Lithuania.

Lucy Dupre, 24, secured her spot by finishing inside the Island’s top three during the 2025 CrossFit Open, earning a call-up to compete in Vilnius from 5-7 December.

The event begins with an international opening ceremony, where Dupre will proudly carry the Jersey flag, before athletes face a demanding series of six tests designed to assess every facet of their fitness.

“I take part in the CrossFit Open every year and never expected to place second in Jersey, let alone qualify for the IF3 Worlds. Since then I’ve been fully focused on preparing, and I’m truly honoured to compete at this level,” she continued.

“The standard will be extremely high, but I’m giving it everything. I would also like to thank Dominion for their generous sponsorship, which has supported me throughout this journey.”

The structure of the IF3 Worlds means competitors must be capable across a wide range of disciplines.

The endurance test usually demands sustained aerobic work – long runs, rows, or extended time-domain efforts – while the strength element centres around heavy loads and low repetitions.

A separate bodyweight test examines capacity under high volume or speed, and another focuses on skill-based movement, often involving gymnastics, balance, and precision.

Arguably the most unpredictable element is the mixed-modal test, which blends endurance, lifting and technical skill in rapid succession. The final stage, based around power, rewards explosive output during short, intense bursts of work.

It is a thorough examination of fitness and consistency, and Dupre will stand alongside some of the most rounded athletes in the sport as she looks to finish her year on a high.
