HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after two men, believed to be neighbors, were found shot to death in the yard of a home in northwest Houston, police say.
The Houston Police Department said they were notified of a shooting in the 3800 block of Lemon Tree Lane on Saturday morning.
When officers arrived, they say they found two men with gunshot wounds in the yard of a home.
Detective Kyle Heaverlo said he believes the men were neighbors and that one had recently moved into the community.
Investigators at the scene said they believe the men were possibly involved in a dispute, but could not confirm what triggered the shooting.
“The suspect appears to be the son of one of the two that passed,” Heaverlo said. “We also have a witness, who potentially lived at one of the two residences, who could be the wife of one of the two men.”
The suspect and witness were taken to HPD Headquarters for questioning, Heaverlo said.
Detectives say they are investigating the relationships between those involved as they piece together what led to the deadly shooting.
