This Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, marked on November 19, the spotlight belongs to the women rewriting India’s business narrative. These leaders aren’t just building companies but are also changing the rules of the game. From beauty and fintech to sustainability, communications, and fashion, these six powerhouse women entrepreneurs have turned grit into growth, ideas into ecosystems, and ambition into real impact. Their journeys prove one thing: the glass ceiling isn’t just cracking – it’s collapsing.

1. Falguni Nayar – Founder, Nykaa

Falguni Nayar, a previous investment banker and a businesswoman in beauty, challenged retail and beauty within India through Nykaa. She created one of the most successful startups in India from the ground up, aiming to offer Indian consumers access to high-quality beauty products with an easy and convenient shopping experience. Under Nayar’s leadership, Nykaa made fundamental changes in how Indians search for beauty products online and in-store, as well as how customers consume beauty. Nayar’s powerful rise from corporate boardrooms to entrepreneurial celebrity mesmerises women of all ages to live their own fears and dreams with courage and confidence.

2. Upasana Taku – Co-Founder, MobiKwik

Upasana Taku, one of the most prominent ladies in the Indian fintech industry, has played a pivotal role in the development of the country’s digital payments ecosystem. While being a co-founder at MobiKwik, she has granted access to finance and cashless comfort to millions located in both cities and villages. Her path manifests the qualities of determination, creativity, and ready-to-take-risk against the traditional way of Indian transactions and business in the digital world.

3. Deepmala – CEO & Founder, The Visual House

Deepmala is the force behind the strategy and creative direction at The Visual House, and she comes with more than 20 years of experience in film and communication. She has managed projects throughout the entire process and has demonstrated herself to be an expert in creating concepts, directing, making productions in many cities, and post-production. Her work is associated with very important fields such as public health behaviour change, foreign policy storytelling, education, energy, and social impact. 4. Nikki Arora Singh – Co-Founder, Blue Tribe Foods

A purpose-driven entrepreneur, Nikki Arora Singh is on a mission to build an emotional connection with consumers through sustainability and conscious eating. Under her leadership, Blue Tribe Foods, a five-year-old trailblazing Indian brand, is revolutionising the plant-based FMCG space with healthier, environmentally friendly alternatives. Catering especially to mothers and working moms who are conscious consumers, the brand offers protein-rich, plant-based versions of everyday favourites like Soya Chaap, Nuggets, Sweet Potato, Momos, and Sausages, without compromising on taste. Nikki’s vision is clear: to create food that’s better for people, animals, and the planet.

5. Richa Kar – Founder, Zivame

Richa Kar established Zivame to transform India’s lingerie industry by eliminating societal obstacles that led to frank discussions about women’s comfort and self-assurance. The platform Zivame serves as her creation. The platform offers a secure setting that enables women to explore their identity while building self-acceptance for their unique characteristics. Through her vision and determination, she brought about a complete market transformation, which motivated many women to establish their own enterprises beyond social expectations.

6. Ritika Mehra—Co-Founder, Stylox Fashion

Ritika Mehra, co-founder of Stylox Fashion, is a visionary leader in one of the fastest-growing homegrown men’s fashion brands. In 2019, she and her husband recognised a need for high-quality, affordable products in the men’s denim industry, leading them to co-found Stylox Fashion. Under her guidance, the brand is strategically expanding through franchise development, retailer engagement, and the establishment of a robust supply chain.
