SAN ANTONIO – You’ll want to avoid three major road closures on the northside this weekend. The buys spots are closed for construction. The Westbound main lanes of 1604 from Lockhill-Selma are closed. The closure started on Friday and 9 p.m. and will continue until Saturday until 3 p.m.
Two other closures are happening on the far north side on the north and southbound lanes of 281 at 1604 and the westbound main lanes of 1604 from Gold Canyon to the 281 interchanges. The two closures also started Friday at 9 p.m. and will end Saturday at 3 p.m.
The closures are part of the 1604 North Expansion Project. TXDOT is working on building bridges.

We reached TXDOT and asked why the road closures are being done right before one of the busiest travel holidays of the year. They told us the closures are minor, and a majority of the impact is happening overnight.
