A man has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition, with burns to 80 per cent of his body, after a light plane crash in central Queensland.
Emergency services were called to an aviation incident on Langmorn Road at Raglan, in the Gladstone region, about 10am on Sunday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the plane crashed and ignited on impact.
Paramedics treated a man in his 60s with significant life-threatening burns burns to his limbs, face and chest.
The spokesperson said the man miraculously walked about 2 kilometres to a nearby homestead following the crash.
A rescue helicopter has airlifted the man to Bundaberg before he was taken to Brisbane for further treatment.
Police say a VH-registered aircraft attempted to land on a private airstrip when it crashed.
Investigations are ongoing, while a spokesperson from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau said it had been notified of the incident and was gathering information.
