November is quickly racing to an end, but CBS has some disappointing news for fans of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to close out the month. Sadly, with the arrival of the Thanksgiving holiday, late night will be going dark on broadcast and this includes The Late Show.
Just as CBS will be sending most of its primetime shows into reruns for the week to account for fewer viewers to be around watching TV with the holiday, it will also be sending The Late Show with Stephen Colbert into reruns. There will be no new episodes the week of November 24, with CBS instead opting to air reruns of episodes from early November and late October.
While the news is disappointing, it’s not exactly surprising as The Late Show typically takes some time off around the holiday season. This includes going into reruns the week of Thanksgiving. As Thanksgiving is this week, that means The Late Show is taking its annual Thanksgiving break.
Although fans will not be able to enjoy new episodes, CBS will still air reruns across the week and it’s lined up some fun episodes for those flipping through the channels late at night looking for something to watch. Here’s The Late Show’s planned schedule for the week:
Monday, November 24 (Original Air Date: November 12, 2025) – Guests Jonathan Karl and Pete Townshend. Pete Townshend sits in with Louis Cato and the Late Show Band.
Tuesday, November 25 (Original Air Date: November 10, 2025) – Guests Demi Moore and Ken Burns.
Wednesday, November 26 (Original Air Date: October 22, 2025) – Guests Emma Stone and Alex Wagner.
Thursday, November 27 (Original Air Date: November 3, 2025) – Guest Tom Hanks. Performance by Mavis Staples.
Friday, November 28 (Original Air Date: November 28, 2025) – Guests Tiffany Haddish and Gary Cole.
The good news is that we do expect The Late Show to return after the Thanksgiving break. We’re waiting for CBS to confirm the show’s return date, but we imagine there should be new episodes coming the week of December 1 to kick off the new month!
Last season, The Late Show came back after Thanksgiving and aired a few new episodes before signing off for the year. This is expected to be the case again this year with the expectation being that we’ll likely get new episodes through the first two weeks of December, before The Late Show takes a multi-week break that keeps it off the air until the top of the new year.
