Toronto police say they located evidence of gunfire at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that shut down a North York intersection early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the intersection of Steeles Avenue West and Islington Avenue at around 6:24 a.m. for reports of several vehicles involved in a crash.

Emergency crews responded, and the intersection was closed in all directions. In a post to social media, police said injuries from the collision “do not appear to be serious” but note one female driver was transported to hospital.
In an update shortly after 7 a.m., investigators said evidence of gunfire was found at the scene, though no shooting victims have been located.
Drivers are being asked to “consider alternate routes.”
