Police are investigating a shooting in Downtown Dallas that left 2 people dead and multiple others injured on Monday morning, officials say.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to 2026 Commerce Street, outside the Hyde and Seek nightclub, just after 2 a.m.

Witnesses told our NBC 5 crews that the incident began as a fight between at least two people outside the club. They said shortly after the fight broke out, they heard up to 15 gunshots.

Police said officers confronted an armed suspect at the nightclub in response to a disturbance.

Two people were killed at the scene, including the suspect, police said.

According to police, multiple other people were injured and transported to area hospitals. No Dallas police officers were injured during the incident.

At least 90 officers from across the city were dispatched to the scene, and a large police presence remains outside the downtown nightclub.

Additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident and the cause of the fight has not been released at this time.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
