SAN ANTONIO – Authorities have arrested two suspects in separate mail-theft cases and warn people to stay vigilant amid a spike in targeted activity across the city.
On the far North Side, officers arrested Aaron Ledger after discovering 239 pieces of stolen mail inside his vehicle during a traffic stop. Police said Ledger had a large bag filled with mail and tools in plain view, and several nearby mailboxes were found broken or damaged. Ledger, who declined to answer questions about the mail, was taken into custody on unrelated active warrants.
In a separate case near Patricia Drive, officers apprehended Orlando Castro and another suspect who were allegedly wearing masks and carrying bags stuffed with stolen mail at an apartment complex. Nearly 130 mailboxes were damaged, and police recovered dozens of pieces of mail belonging to residents.
