Along with the terrible business ethics and toxic family dynamic, one of the most memorable aspects of HBO’s “Succession” was the clothes. The Roys may have been terrible people, but they looked sharp doing it.
Kendall Roy’s gray overcoat ($6,350) and plain navy ballcap ($745)? They’re by Loro Piana, an Italian apparel and home goods company that just celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Arizona’s first Loro Piana store just opened at Scottsdale Fashion Square, on the first level of the mall, near Tiffany & Co.
Regular folks are not the target audience.

The store carries women’s accessories and bags, men’s and women’s shoes and men’s and women’s ready-to-wear. Think lambskin bucket bags ($3,180), long knit cashmere dresses ($4,740), silk trousers ($2,310) and cashmere beanies ($450).

“Each area (features) a welcoming lounge designed to encourage relaxation and enhance the customer experience. The boutique also offers the option of closing off the last two rooms, creating two large private areas,” according to a press release.
Even the description of the store (which calls itself a maison, the French word for house) is fancy: “The boutique’s concept and interior design represent the true essence of Loro Piana, featuring core elements of natural materials, a warm colour palette and signature oak and Carabottino wood details. … The concept is a flawless fusion of sophistication and comfort that evokes an inviting ‘home away from home’ feeling. Richly textured finishes and surfaces, silk carpets, raffia, and silk wall coverings by Loro Piana Interiors epitomise the Maison’s attention to exquisite tactility. Warm earthy tones of the Maison’s signature Kummel, beige, and burgundy combined with soft lighting add to the alluring and enveloping ambiance.”
Loro Piana isn’t the only ultra-high-end store to open recently at Scottsdale Fashion Square. A two-story Hermes store debuted in September, which makes the mall the only place in Arizona to pick up a $30,000 Birkin and a $1,000 pair of cashmere sneakers before heading to dinner and a movie.
