SAN ANTONIO — The first group of gorillas have been delivered to the San Antonio Zoo and we have a sneak peak at the new stars before their big debut.

Three female gorillas, Andi, Merry, and Anaka recently made the move from the Atlanta zoo as part of the Gorilla Species Survival Plan as well as the highly-anticipated opening of the Congo Falls habitat.

On Thanksgiving, the zoo also welcomed Ajari, a 25-year-old male western lowland gorilla. This marks the return of western lowland gorillas to San Antonio for the first time in 35 years.

Congo Falls is set to open at 10:00 a.m. on Dec. 13. In total, the zoo says the new habitat will open with 7 western lowland gorillas. Get tickets here.
