Dos Pueblos, Santa Barbara High and San Marcos dominated the Channel League girls tennis landscape this fall, from strong showings in the regular season to impressive finishes at the league individual tournament.
The Chargers, Dons and Royals accounted for all four of the league’s individual award winners and totaled an impressive 25 All-League honorees.
Santa Barbara High senior Nicole Buist outlasted Dos Pueblos senior Mel Mayo to win the Channel League Singles Individual title to bring their stellar high school careers to an end.
Both Buist and Mayo excelled all season for their respective teams and were rewarded as the Channel League Singles Co-Most Valuable Players.
Meanwhile, the San Marcos duo of senior Kate Selby and sophomore Tate Jaeger captured the Channel League Doubles title and were named the league’s Doubles Most Valuable Players.

Dos Pueblos
The Chargers rolled through the Channel League in the regular season, going undefeated to earn the team championship title.
While Mayo was atop the singles lineup, Dos Pueblos was also led by All-League First Team selections senior Isla Herrera, junior Zella Cassidy and junior Atria Husein.
The Charger depth came through all season, and it was made evident by the All-League selections as senior Ari Fisher, senior Kaitlyn Marden and junior Sonia Flathman all made the All-League Second Team.
The Dos Pueblos senior pairing of Jessica Hart and Gigi DeRa capped off their high school careers in style with All-League Honorable Mention nods.
San Marcos
The Royals registered a pair of All-League First Team honorees as seniors Sabrina Rashti and Mya Shenoda made strong impacts in their final high school seasons.
The senior class success rolled into the All-League Second Team as the senior trio of Paia Lowry, Riley Beainy and Elana Rowan earned spots on the team with their strong play.
Meanwhile, the sophomore duo of Jacqui Wilson and Leah Shenoda gave a glimpse into the future of the program with All-League Honorable Mention campaigns.
Santa Barbara High
While Buist was at the center of the Dons’ success, juniors Lucy Kronberg and Kate Hashbarger turned in standout seasons of their own and collected All-League First Team selections.
Senior Makena Taylor and junior Sky O’Reilly shined as well, representing the team on the All-Channel League Second Team.
Juniors Kana Wolf and Violet Marr rounded out the local All-League honorees by earning spots as All-Channel League Honorable Mentions.
